Baekhyun (Byun Baekhyun)


My eldest sister’s bias. EXO’s vocal and most talkative member. He really likes to imitate and annoy Tao. A playful guy like the neighborhood little boy. A man with infinite charm through voice and actions.

Byun Baek-hyun born May 6, 1992 in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea, better known as Baekhyun, is a South Korean singer and a member of the South KoreanChinese boy group EXO and its sub-group EXO-K.[1] He has been an MC of Inkigayo since February 2014 with fellow member and leader of EXO-K, Suho. He is currently signed to SM Entertainment in South Korea and Avex Trax in Japan.

Prior to joining SM, he took piano lessons under Kim Hyunwoo of DickPunks.[2] He was studying for his college musical entrance exams when he was scouted to join S.M. Entertainment in 2011 through the S.M. Casting System. Before he got into S.M. Entertainment he had auditioned for JYP online in 2009.[3]


Being a member of Exo, Baekhyun has cited Rain as one of his main influences and says that he hopes to emulate Rain’s “well-rounded” success.[3]

Since February 2014, Baekhyun has been a resident host of Korean music show Inkigayo along with EXO groupmate Suho.

In July to August 2014, he starred in a Korean adaptation of the musical “Singin’ in the Rain” produced by SM C&C[4] along with Super Junior Kyuhyun and Girls Generation Sunny.


In June 2014, Baekhyun and fellow S.M. artist Taeyeon from Girls’ Generation were reported by Korean media to be dating and SM Entertainment confirmed that they had been in a relationship since February.[5]
